The graceful Nataraj in the lobby depicts the Hindu God, Lord Shiva as the cosmic ecstatic dancer doing the ‘Tandav’. An avatar of Lord Vishnu - Parshuram literally translates as ‘the axe-bearing Ram’, guards the gates at The Leela Goa. Yali in Sanskrit is a mythical creature often seen in ancient Hindu temples sculpted into pillars. These creatures were known to be more powerful than the tiger, lion, or the elephant. Eight life-size Yalis can be seen adorning the pillars at The Leela Goa lobby, created by a master sculptor from Jaipur. These powerful guardians are said to infuse you with renewed energy.
Ganesha is known as The Lord of Beginnings, The Remover of Obstacles and The Deity of Good Fortune hence, he is worshipped before the start of any new venture. A small Ganesh temple is situated outside The Club Lounge. The enormous Nandi in the lobby who is the vehicle for Lord Shiva is considered the bearer of truth and righteousness.
