Moti Doongri a picturesque hill in Jaipur

Moti Doongri Ganesh Temple

Moti Doongri is a picturesque hill around which the stunning city of Jaipur thrives. The hill, resembling a pearl drop, is a popular destination for visitors who come to pay homage at the renowned Ganesh temple, the most significant religious temple in Jaipur. According to legend, the temple was built by Seth Jai Ram Paliwal in the early 18th century. The temple's origin story is fascinating, with the King of Mewar deciding to build a temple for the Lord Ganesh idol wherever the bullock cart carrying it would stop. The cart eventually stopped at the foot of Moti Doongri, where the temple now stands.

The hill also features a magnificent palace perched on top, which is a replica of a Scottish castle. It was once the royal residence of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh and still belongs to the royal family. The view of the palace is a sight to behold and adds to the exotic vibe of the area.
